You just got your period and now you are wondering which is the right sanitary pad for you. Your friends may have told you about tampons too and you are thinking of trying them. You may be scared of getting some stains on that new pants you just bought and you’re not sure if it’s okay to play tennis with your friends tomorrow while you’re having your period.
Having your menses is a natural thing for a girl. It should not stop you from wearing the clothes you want or doing the stuff you have been doing all this time.
So Pads or Tampons?
Are you in a dilemma? It’s your choice which one you’d like to use. No pressure here! Remember to choose what is more convenient and comfortable to you.
Sanitary Pads
- Sanitary pads are cotton pads and they appear flat. They have strips or adhesives under them so they can be r eadily applied by sticking them onto your underwear. They vary in their thickness. Some may have wings to protect your underwear from blood leaks. Others may be a little longer than the regular pads.
Tampons
- Most tampons are made of cotton just like your pads. The cotton is pressed together to become slim tubes. Unlike pads, tampons are inserted into your vagina during heavy or moderate menses. This may be a little tricky for first time users. Follow package instructions properly and this should make it easier the next time.
